2024 is a memorable year for us, marked by a significant expansion of our school. We successfully rented an additional floor, which, after extensive renovations, added five new classrooms to our learning centre. This new floor features reconfigurable wall panels, creating a dynamic and versatile learning area for our students. The upgrades didn’t stop there—we installed new flooring, brought in new furniture, refreshed our walls with a fresh coat of paint, and gave all our bathrooms a complete makeover. Additionally, we established a new teacher’s corner, providing our expanded teaching staff with a dedicated space for syllabus planning and team bonding.Since these transformations, we’ve witnessed remarkable growth in our school. Teacher productivity has soared, student engagement has deepened, and the entire community—students, teachers, and parents—has been uplifted by the positive atmosphere. At the end of our renovations, long-time volunteer Daniel Ngiam painted a vibrant mural in our nursery play area. Featuring the word “NURSERY” at the top, the mural adds life to the space and fosters a sense of belonging for our youngest students. The mural depicts joyful children, reflecting our community and inspiring playfulness, curiosity, and exploration. Guardian angels in the sky symbolize protection, reminding students they are safe to learn, smile, and grow. A green peafowl, Myanmar’s national bird, highlights our Burmese roots, while a padauk tree—the centerpiece—represents growth and resilience. Students added their thumbprints to the tree’s leaves, leaving a creative, permanent mark.
