Our volunteers are the heart of our community, offering their time, skills, and dedication to uplift our children and support our programs. From teaching and mentoring to assisting in daily operations, their selfless efforts create ripples of positive change. Through their grace and generosity, they embody the true spirit of service in person and from afar.

Daniel has been serving ZRCLC in various capacities since 2015. During Malaysia's emergency COVID lock-down in 2020, he was instrumental in setting up our online learning system when he led peers at Regis High School in New York to provide remote lessons for our children. That initiative expanded at Regis and beyond, and remains a core learning system here. Now at university, Daniel continues to lead our online program, and also helps oversee curriculum and teaching development at ZRCLC.
"I deeply admire the strength and unity of the students. Seeing so many of the kids grow up academically and personally has truly been a blessing."

Michael is also a graduate of Regis High School. As a Catholic, he believes that everyone deserves an education regardless of financial or societal status. He enjoys playing soccer, cooking, and teaching.
He began volunteering for ZRCLC in July 2022, and when he was a Senior at Regis served as the lead coordinator for Regis volunteers. At college currently, Michael continues to volunteer as one of our weekly online teacher.
"Every week, I see the students improve their academic skills, and I see the students open up socially as they continually participate more often. It has been a joy to watch."

A partner in a law practice, Adeline also serves as a professional deputy for the mentally incapacitated and as a mediator. With the support colleagues and clients, she has been able to carve out time to teach weekly since 2020.

“The experience of connecting with the children, even if it is just for an hour every week gives great joy and fulfilment. The students are keen learners. It is a privilege for me to be part of their learning journey”

Richard was introduced by a fellow volunteer, Mabel, and found the first year gratifying teaching 2 youths - Francis and Joseph. In his second year, Richard tutored both P1 and P2.
"The enthusiasm and the hunger to learn from the children is what motivates me"

Since 2020, Regis volunteers have been vital in providing daily online lessons, enriching our children's learning and bridging gaps from across the world.
The Regis-Zotung Initiative was a spontaneous response to dire circumstances the ZRCLC community faced during COVID, and has since grown from strength to strength.

Leo is a Senior at Regis. He has been volunteering with Zotung since December of 2022 and continues to spread the gift of an education to all. He enjoys reading and playing soccer.
"It is truly an honor to witness my students developing week by week in all realms of their academic, social, and religious lives with a smile on their face."

Patrick is a Junior at Regis. He has been active in the Regis-Zotung Initiative since February of 2024. He loves building connections with his students and helping them receive the education they deserve. In addition to tutoring, he also helps with expanding ZRCLC's lesson plans. Patrick is a competitive runner, and enjoys camping, and playing the trumpet.
"It's an honor to work with my students and I'm inspired by their cheerfulness and willingness to learn."

Simon is a Junior at Regis. He has been volunteering with Zotung since 2024 and loves being able to teach and connect with the students. Besides teaching online, he also assists in coordination of volunteer schedules across time zones. Simon enjoys public speaking, travel, and sports.
"I believe that each student has the right to learn and grow, and love the role that Regians play in the ZRCLC students’ education."

Connor is a Junior at Regis. He has been volunteering since 2023 and helps with recruitment, engagement, and teaching. Connor was also with a Regis service group which served on-site at ZRCLC and where he learned more about our community and mission. In his free time, Connor enjoys traveling and sports.
"Nothing makes me happier than seeing how much the students improve and how hard they work."

A Regis Junior, Dilan leads fundraising for the Regis-Zotung Initiative and has served as a tutor since 2023. He's visited ZRCLC and gained firsthand insight into the impact of the learning centre on the community. Outside of service and school, Dilan loves spending time on the basketball court.
"My weekly highlight is seeing the students' commitment and the enthusiasm they bring to class."
